Where Have All The Bees Gone?

May 16, 2007 20:38Categories: Comments: 0

We all have heard the various reasons why the bees are disappearing, cell phones, parasites fungus etc. but where are all the really juicy conspiracy theories on this?

Well I have one. Imagine you're a large multinational corporation which uses your genetic engineering department to slice and dice the DNA of animals and plants to make so-called superior plants, let's say corn, that doesn't seed so the farmers have to come back year after year to buy your seeds to grow corn.
(...)

SKorea's LG Philipps develops first A4 colour e-paper

Just like in Minority Report we are finally getting to the point were technology becomes a reality.
it would be nice to be able to read books and magazines all from one lightweight source. Throw in wi-fi and one could get instant updates from whatever news source you subscribe to. Also be able to download magazine subscriptions and books. Damn! When can I get one of these?

Early U.S. Daylight Savings a bust in power savings

Mon Apr 2, 2007 6:56PM EDT

By Lisa Lee

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The early onset of Daylight Savings Time in the United States this year may have been for naught.

The move to turn the clocks forward by an hour on March 11 rather than the usual early April date was mandated by the U.S. government as an energy-saving effort.

French train breaks world record

April 03, 2007 13:13Categories: Comments: 0

So why can't we here in Canada have a nice high speed train going across the country?

Ever since Mulroney slashed funding to VIA our train network has not been the same.

At least a high speed train along the Windsor - Quebec city corridor would be a good start and would be cheaper and quicker than taking a flight.

It would be nice to jump on the train in the morning, be in Montreal in one hour, spend the day, have a nice dinner and be back home in one hour.

Interesting news piece here. One of the questions I have, as it doesn't say in the article, is this going to be free? Or will we have to pay monthly fees to log into the wi-fi?

Kids Build Soybean-Fueled Car

March 06, 2006 19:02Categories: Comments: 0

I find this an amazing story. Not the kids who built this as I believe anyone, no matter what their backgrounds are, can do anything if they put their minds to it, but the fact that the auto makers have yet to do this and they are supposed to have all the "brains" to build a car like this.

Oh well maybe when people start demanding more fuel efficient cars the auto companies will start building them instead of bowing to the pressures of the oil companies.

Busy Weekend

I had a busy weekend, running around, buying shit that I needed and didn't need.

Started Friday night after work when I picked up the French Connection box set on DVD with French Connection 1 and 2. Great re-release of an excellent movie. The 1st movie comes with a second DVD with a couple of documentaries on the French Connection , a stills gallery and 7 deleted scenes.
I love this movie especially the car chase scene. (...)

Busy Summer

September 22, 2001 19:56Categories: Comments: 0

It has been a very, very busy summer as you can tell by my lack of updates.

I did get my printer/scanner problem fixed and all is running well. All newsletters are up to date and the calendar is up to date also. I am behind in getting the Biker Movie section caught up as I have had problems making the little video clip samplers. For some reason (I have not found the problem yet) when I make the videos they are all messed up, like watching a tv show with bad reception. It may be (...)
